This debate is part of the four priorities of the Spanish Presidency of the Council, such as reindustrializing the EU and ensure their strategic autonomy; progress in the ecological transition and environmental adaptation; promote greater social and economic justice and, finally, to strengthen European unity.
Luis Planas stressed that the incorporation of new technologies in agri-food production will respond to the first two of these priorities, in terms of ensuring the food autonomy of the Union and the necessary ecological transition and environmental adaptation to the climate challenge.
