The ecological surface grows by 8%, surpassing 2.6 million hectares in 2021

The organic agricultural area increased by 8% and exceeded 2.6 million hectares in 2021.

The area allocated to organic production in Spain increased by 8% in 2021 compared to the previous year, reaching 2,635,442 hectares, and already places the useful agricultural area (UAA) dedicated to organic production at 10.79%. These data, which are provisional until EUROSTAT publishes the definitive ones, confirm the growth trend of recent years, and place Spain as one of the main organic producers by area in the European Union (EU) and in the world.
