Luis Planas: “The European Commission must take a step forward to support the agricultural sector in the face of drought and mobilize the agricultural reserve as soon as possible”.
The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Luis Planas, has expressed the need for the European Commission to take immediate measures to mitigate the effects of drought, which is causing serious difficulties in the crops of the countries of the Mediterranean basin, as well as in the markets, given the decline in production. For the minister, “we are facing a climatic crisis, with direct effect on the markets” and pointed out that “the European Commission must take a step forward and mobilize the agricultural reserve of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) as soon as possible”.
